The uniqueness of the Yamsky Islands is known to many scientists in Russia. The archipelago is unique with its giant bird colonies, a colony of sea lions of 1000 heads, and a high content of plankton in the water. Yamskie Islands are the only seismically active zone in the Magadan Region. In addition to the flora and fauna, the islands themselves are incredibly beautiful: Baran Island, 197m high, is a granite monolith with steep cliffs and two tunnels. Matykil Island - 700m, with very steep slopes and picturesque nature. The Yamsky Islands themselves are remote from Magadan (the journey by ship takes 30+ hours in good weather, by boat - 8 hours) and is surrounded by underwater rocks and powerful currents. These barriers have so far prevented tourists and travelers from visiting the Yamskaya Archipelago.
The nearby Piyagina Peninsula is no less beautiful. Numerous sea arches, sheer cliffs half a kilometer high, noble tundra and the mighty jungle of dwarf trees are home to a large number of bears and bighorn sheep. Tour organizers know the gorges and valleys in which these animals spend the summer and autumn, which gives a good chance to film sheep from a drone or even a television camera. For photo tourists, it is possible to climb the Piyaginskaya Ridge - a ridge 800-900 meters high rising directly from the Sea of Okhotsk. From above you can see how the mountain with steep slopes goes into the sea.
