Duration:
8 days
Group:
1-10 people
Daily trips to the sea and to the best points of the peninsula to create incredibly beautiful images of the nature of Kolyma. On the Piyagina Peninsula and the neighboring Yamsky Islands there is quite a large number of inhabitants of the animal world, so that it is easy to convey their life in a place almost untouched by man. The Piyaginsky section of the Magadan Nature Reserve is the least studied of all its territories.
During the tour you will be able to visit 6-7 locations during sunrise and sunset. In the middle of the tour, you will be transferred with guides to different locations (depending on the conditions and group) on the Piyagin coast - steep cliffs, magnificent sunsets, granite sea arches 20 meters high. The Yamskie Islands are surrounded by strong currents - it is impossible to get there in bad weather.
At the first opportunity, the entire group heads for Hatemalyu Island (a granite ridge 173 meters high and about 60 meters wide) and Matykil Island (700 meters high, steep cliffs, a colony of sea lions of more than a thousand heads).
Be one of the first to capture the beauty of the unexplored Piyagina and the unforgettable Yamsky Islands
Tour program
PLEASE NOTE!
The program and success of the tour almost entirely depends on the weather, tides. Only the operator can determine a safe period of time for going to sea. Even in clear and calm weather at the base (the location of which was precisely chosen to hide from waves and wind), the sea can be lethal in the neighboring bay or on the way to the Yamskie Islands. Taking part in this tour means your complete trust in the experience and decisions of the organizer, whose decisions are not subject to discussion or challenge in the future. Note on transfer: the cost of transferring tourists by ship or two boats is approximately equal to the cost of transfer by helicopter. In 90% of cases, the organizer will prefer a helicopter transfer, but in case of bad weather or other factors, the organizer may choose a sea transfer. Also, please do not forget about the large number of bears on the Piyagina Peninsula and follow the instructions of the rangers unquestioningly for your safety.

Day 1 - Arrival in Magadan

Meeting guests at Sokol airport, regardless of their time of arrival. We meet guests at the exit from the airport (!), not in the arrival hall. Transfer to Magadan, check-in at a hotel (accommodation and meals in Magadan at your own expense). Before dinner, guests will have time to explore the city on their own. In the evening - welcome dinner in one of the restaurants with local delicacies (food at your own expense). Departure/exit to the base is possible on the same day, immediately upon arrival - by decision of the organizer.

Day 2 - Departure to Pyagina Peninsula

Exit by boat or transfer by helicopter to the Piyagina Peninsula. Welcome lunch or dinner. Depending on the time of arrival, light trekking is possible within 5 km. Each exit on foot is accompanied by an armed ranger.
Note on transfer: the cost of transferring tourists by ship or two boats is approximately equal to the cost of transfer by helicopter. In 90% of cases, the organizer will prefer a helicopter transfer, but in case of bad weather or other factors, the organizer may choose a sea transfer.

Day 3 - Yamskie Islands

Departure to the Yamskie Islands by boat early in the morning for the whole day. Lunch with observation of a sea lion colony. Return to camp for dinner. The Yamskie Islands are surrounded by dangerous, powerful currents, so the ebb and flow of the tides, even in clear weather, are taken into account when determining the possibility of travel, as are other weather conditions.
Note: Please be aware that this tour is entirely weather dependent. The exit to the Yamskie Islands may happen on the second or even on the 6th day.

Day 4 - White sands of Etyken

Full day on the Etyken Peninsula. Transfer on large inflatable boats early in the morning, after breakfast. Trekking 2 km to the top of the peninsula, observing black-capped marmots. Lunch with fish soup and red fish on a white sandy beach. Trekking 2-3 km to the Sphinx grotto. Return to base camp for dinner. Possible dinner on the Etyken Peninsula and return to the base late in the evening.

Day 5 - Spare day

Spare day. Sea fishing is possible with observation of bighorn sheep on the way back. Or a bath day, with trekking along picturesque routes around the base (up to 5 km). For an individual group, it is possible to climb the Pyaginskie Mountains (a difficult 1 or 2 day route, alpine experience and excellent physical preparation are required).

Day 6 - Pyagina

Excursion along the coast of the Pyagina Peninsula by boat or motorboat (30-50 km by sea one way). Visit to the Great Arch. Trekking is possible upon return.

Day 7 - Return trip

Departure/departure to Magadan. Depending on the time of arrival/weather - an excursion to the Local History Museum (2 hours) or a city tour (2.5 hours). In the evening there is a farewell dinner.

Day 8 - Sokol Airport

Transfer from the hotel to the airport. At the request of guests, it is possible to visit the fish market or souvenir shops.

Day 9-10

We recommend that tourists set their flight on the 9th or 10th day, since delays at the base are possible in case of bad weather. Upon arrival to Magadan from Piyagina Peninsula, it is possible to change tickets to earlier dates. We will also be happy to recommend local tour operators who can organize interesting one-day programs if you would like to explore the city in more detail.
